Today we met Reham, one of our High School Vocational Scholarship winners. 
Lisa called our meeting to order and, after the Pledge of Allegiance and the Prayer, she started us off with announcements. 
  • Please note that Plymouth AM is looking for volunteers for the morning of September 7th to help get ready for their spaghetti dinner that afternoon and evening.
  • A reminder that August is membership month.
  • September 11th is the "Do Good Expo" at the Summit from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  The Canton Rotary Club will have a table, and we are collecting books for our Little Free Libraries.  For more information please see
  • September 28th from 8:30 am until noon is Rotary District 6400 Feed the World Day.  Our District will work together to package meals at Wayne County Community College, 9555 Haggerty Road, Belleville, MI. These meals will go to Kids Coalition Against Hunger.  The emergency portion of the food packaged will go to the Bahamas.  The goal for this event is to package 100,000 meals.  For more information please see,447&eventID=435&date=2019-09-28&day=28&widget=1&TB_iframe=1&tbWidth=600&tbHeight=500.
  • September 30th is the annual District Governor Golf Outing at Fox Hills.  All profits made from this event will be used to fund international club charitable projects.
  • October 24th - World Polio Day.  We will sponsor a Yoga event at the Summit to raise funds for Polio Eradication.  Updates to follow.
  • November 14 - 16 is RYLA.  If you know of a high school student who would be a good candidate, please contact Sue Kowalski.
One of our High School Scholarship winners, Reham, talked to us today.  She graduated from the local high school and is currently attending Schoolcraft Community College.  She is studying dental hygiene and is excited about becoming a dental hygienist.  Congratulations Reham.  We wish you well in your future career endeavors.
