This evening we met to thank our Liberty Fest Volunteers for their help at our Beverage Tent, and to collect school supplies for the Salvation Army Back 2 School Drive.

Tonight we met with our Beverage Tent Volunteers to thank them for their service during Liberty Fest with a picnic.  We had originally scheduled the picnic for a Heritage Park picnic shelter.  However, due to the weather, we rescheduled it for the Cady-Boyer Barn where we were assured of being dry and protected from any lightning.  We started with a talk by our Salvation Army guests who told us about the work that they do and about the Back 2 School Drive.  All of the items that are donated go directly to the school children and to the classrooms.  We are very grateful to our Liberty Fest Volunteers who helped make this a very successful Back 2 School Drive.

After we heard from April and Darla from the Salvation Army, we enjoyed a picnic dinner of Lee's Famous Chicken, cole slaw, macaroni salad, lasagna, baked beans, rolls, and cake.  Thanks to Lisa Kennedy for her baked beans and Nancy Williams for her homemade lasagna.  Texas sheet cake and macaroni were courtesy of Sue Kowalski.

After dinner John and Ansel treated us to a few games of Bingo.  Prizes were lottery tickets, and we hope that some of the tickets were winners.  While it was very warm, we still had a great time.  Thanks for coming everyone.
