Past District Governor Roberto Sanchez and his wife Sylvia spoke to us about the work of the Rotary International Foundation.

The picture above shows a fellow District 6400 Rotarian on a previous mission to Ghana.  She will also be joining this upcoming mission to Ghana.

Roberto and Sylvia shared their personal experiences of travel to foreign countries to make life better for the citizens of those countries, and especially their touching experiences with the children of those countries.  This was all made possible by Rotarians' donations to the Rotary International Foundation which makes grants available to carry out humanitarian projects around the world.  While Rotarians pay their own way to work on these projects, The Rotary International Foundation makes grants available to fund the actual materials and supplies to build hospitals and schools, equip laboratories, perform surgeries and medical procedures, and many other projects.

Roberto will be traveling to Assin-Bereku, Ghana, in January 2019 as one of the team members that will be drilling a well, constructing a sanitation facility, renovating a dilapidated school, providing backpacks, school supplies, and school uniforms, and conducting eye glass clinics, primary health care clinics, and dental clinics.  We thank Roberto and Sylvia for their dedication to the humanitarian work of Rotary.
