Today, our newest member, Doug Morison, was installed.  Doug's sponsor is Bill Simmerer, and our District Governor, John Chambers, was on hand to install Doug into Rotary and welcome him to our ranks.  We are excited to have you with us in Rotary, Doug, and look forward to getting to know you better and to sharing Rotary with you.

After Doug's installation, Steve Ahles, our District Membership Chairman, talked to us about Rotary membership.  He talked about membership as a process, and likened the initial contact and process to dating.  As the Club and the potential member get to know each other, it will become apparent whether the new member is a good fit for the club they are courting, or whether that potential member would be a better fit for another nearby club.  Our goal is to welcome new members into our clubs and make sure that they feel at home with the club that they join.  Steve also talked about engaging new members.  Thank you for speaking to us today, Steve, and we appreciate you talking on this role of Membership Chair for our District 6400.

Visitors today were potential member Peter Lee, potential member Steve Spencer, Grace Holness from Simeon's Rest Adult Day Center, District Governor John Chambers, and speaker Steve Ahles.  We welcome all of our visitors and are happy that you joined us and gave us the chance to get to know you.

We have Bell Ringing for The Salvation Army coming up on November 16th.  Remember, you do not have to be a member of our Club to ring bells.  We invite friends and family to join us, as well as our visitors.  To set up you time to ring, please call Sue K at 734-968-1436 or e-mail at suekowalski@mac.com.

Please also see the other activities coming up on our website.
