Our guest speaker today was our club member Dean Clemons.

President John Kowalski rang us in on time today after our board meeting, and the following are a few announcements:

  • Services for Millie Brown have been scheduled and the club deeply appreciates the many years we had with her and will remember her in our prayers.
  • Members are reminded that the area 5 Ghana school project is still accepting donation items.
  • Sat., April 4th at 8:00am-12:00pm is District Assembly.  Check the link for details and let John or Sue know if you want to go.
  • Sat., March 10th is our Youth Exchange Luncheon and Tour at the Cherry Hill Schoolhouse and Bartlett-Travis House.
  • New applicant Sarah Maiga has been approved for membership by The Canton Rotary Club.  Her nomination now goes to the membership at large for final approval.
  • The State of the Township Meeting in Canton is Planned for March 7th at 11:30am (Village Theater).  The cost is only $25 and will be covered by the club.  Reservations are due by March 2nd.  Please let Sue K know if you would like to go.
Sue then called for the kindness reports from our club members and members Ken, Bill S, and Dean revealed some good experiences of sending it forward.  New volunteers were then added for next week.

Dean was our speaker today and he started out with an overview of his family history in Ohio and leading eventually to Michigan.  He also gave the club a background of his personal experiences that included some surprising athletics, such as javelin throwing, and his Charter boat work on Lake Erie from 1988-1999.  He then took us into his classification topic starting with his MBA and interests that led to his work today as a Chartered Retirement Specialist Adviser with Lincoln Financial.  He equated his love of coaching soccer with helping coach people as a financial advisor.  A good Q&A session followed and included illustrations of his company's cross discipline approaches and 401K optimization for entrepreneurs and business owners with the members.  We thank Dean for his talk to the club and appreciate him adding his knowledge and skills to the club for 2018.

Pizza was our excellent meal today.
