The Canton Rotary Club Presented a Check for $1500 to support Ghana School development for 2018.
John Kowalski started our meeting today and we were visited by Jeanne DeRoche and Area 5 Assistant Governor Rick Jones.  The following are a few announcements:

  • Jeanne DeRoche received a check on behalf of the Area 5 Ghana Project from the Canton Rotary Foundation for $1500 to support the continued development of the School in Ghana for 2018.
  • The Canton Club was recognized by Rotary International for 100% giving participation to the Rotary International Foundation for 2016/2017.  See the small banner to the left of John K. on the photo at our article header.

Russ Jones addressed the club today and updated us up on current activities in District 6400 for 2018.  His discussion included illustrations of upcoming awards such as The Hedke Award, possible corporate member implications, presidential citations, Rotary Foundational giving, new membership initiatives , district governor grants and seminar dates and plans, tree planting for the district, the next Rotary International Convention in Toronto, a 2018 Polio Plus Push, and the next Area 5 picnic pre-planning.

Lisa was our Sergeant and preserved our budget well as the table at the back of the room could not escape since the banner was next to them today.  Kevin ran the 50/50 with only 16 cards  and we had a visitor PDG Ed Schultz to take a shot at he Ace, but it remained very shy and is still in the deck.  Lasagna was served for lunch today.
